Infant (as well referred to as Infant, a Gallant Pig) occurs as 1995 fantasy film that tells the story of the pig who wants to be the herding dog. It stars James Cromwell, Magda Szubanski and the voices of Christine Cavanaugh, Miriam Margolyes, Hugo Weaving, Miriam Flynn, Russi Taylor and Roscoe Lee Browne. the independent sensual characters come played by a combination of rattling & animatronic pigs & Border Collies.
A motion-picture show was adapted by George Miller and Chris Noonan from the novel A Sheep Pig by Dick King-Smith. It was directed by Noonan.
A talking fleshly visual effects were done by Rhythm and Hues Studios.
Baby was followed by the 1998 sequel, Babe: Pig in the City.
Awards
It won a Academy Award for Visual Effects, and was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (James Cromwell), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
